BaudBound is source available for noncommercial use and welcomes community contributions. It is not open source under the Open Source Initiative definition because its software license restricts commercial use.
Source code, schemas, configuration, build scripts, and executable software are provided under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. Each BaudBound repository contains the license file that controls its contents. For example, the runner terms are in the BaudBound/baudbound license, and the editor terms are in the BaudBound/editor license.
The license permits personal use, research, experimentation, education, qualifying nonprofit and government uses, modification, and redistribution for permitted noncommercial purposes. Any redistribution must include the license terms or their URL and the required notice.
The license does not grant commercial-use permission. Contact the project owner before using BaudBound as part of a commercial product, paid service, business operation, or other use that may fall outside the permitted purposes.
Original wiki content, documentation screenshots and diagrams, and the documentation repository README are provided under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Content in another BaudBound repository is controlled by the license files in that repository.
You may share and adapt covered content for noncommercial purposes when you:
The BaudBound name, logos, word marks, and other distinctive brand identifiers are owned by NATroutter and excluded from the software and content licenses. The brand notice permits accurate references and attribution but does not permit branding a modified distribution as BaudBound or implying project endorsement.
By intentionally submitting a contribution, you agree to license it under the terms that apply to the part of the repository you changed. Code contributions use PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Documentation and non-code creative contributions use CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Only submit work that you have the right to license. Identify any third-party material and preserve its copyright and license notices. A dependency or third-party asset keeps its own license even when distributed with BaudBound.
Changing the repository license does not withdraw permissions already granted for copies published under an earlier license. Check the license files included with the specific version you received.
